Mr. Overton is a lifelong resident of District F and a Democrat.

He is married to Marie M. Overton and they have four children.

He is a member of Acme Lodge No. 43, member of Magnolia State Peace Officer Association, member and President of War Horse Tailgate Association, member of Teamster Local 568. Third term President of International Brotherhood of Teamster and Joint Council 80. Served on the Board of Directors for Cenla Community Action Committee. Chaired its Parishwide Advisory Council. Member of Mount Triumph Baptist Church.
